Just as she decides to get her life back on track, in walks Cage Erickson, the new bouncer at the local strip club. He’s scary-handsome and the polar opposite of her ex. She’s attracted to him, but she’s not looking for a rebound. He’s attracted to her, but he’s not looking for a serious relationship. So, they agree to be friends.

But when lines get blurred in the friend zone, will they both get burned? Or will it be a TKO?

J'ai beaucoup aimé l'histoire de Tempest et Cage (tous deux portant des prénoms reflétant leur vie actuelle...), elle parle de gens blessés qui essaient tant bien que mal de se reconstruire. Ils vont s'aider, se motiver, se porter l'un l'autre pour être le meilleur d'eux-mêmes et arriver à passer à autre chose.

Tempest a fait ce que beaucoup d'héroïne de romance ne font pas, parce que c'est pas très positif comme modèle : quand elle surprend son mari au lit avec sa maîtresse, elle pète un câble et lui envois des trucs à figure, au point de se faire arrêter. Sa colère et sa tristesse n'aidant pas, elle récidive, plusieurs fois... Elle est sommée par un juge de faire des séances de management de la colère. Donc voilà, un profil comme ça, une héroïne impulsive, limite crazy qui a du mal à se contrôler sous la provocation c'est pas sexy...

Mais ça plait à Cage ^^, videur au Pink Pony, il est plus habitué à gérer des mecs chelous qu'une nana bourée qui veut danser sur le bar. Oui parce qu'en plus Tempest est pas sous son meilleur jour quand elle le rencontre. Sauf que Cage se sent responsable et surveille avec des yeux de faucons que personne ne l'embête, jusqu'à ce qu'elle se vautre sur lui et qu'il n'a pas d'autre choix que de la ramener en sécurité chez elle. Cage est un boxeur pro qui a dû subitement mettre fin à sa carrière suite à une blessure à l'épaule, il débarque à Green Valley pour être au calme et réfléchir à ce qu'il va bien pouvoir faire à la place.

De là, Cage et Tempest vont décider d'être amis, aucun des deux n'est prêt pour quoi que ce soit d'autre de toute façon. Et quand on est amis on se soutien dans les moments difficiles, c'est comme ça que Cage va proposer des cours de boxe à Tempest pour l'aider à évacuer, et réaliser grâce à elle qu'il y a d'autres opportunités professionnelles...

histoire de bien couiner, Cage est un viking, oui oui, ascendant norvégien par le papa, on imagine très bien un Alexander Skarsgard ♥

I really liked the story of Tempest and Cage (both wearing names reflecting their current life...), it talks about wounded people trying to rebuild themselves. They will help each other, motivate each other, help them be the best of themselves and get on with their life.

Tempest did what a lot of romance heroin didn't, because it's not very positive role model : when she catches her husband in bed with his mistress, she goes berserk and throws stuff at him, at one point she is arrested. Her anger and sadness does not help, she reoffends many times... She is ordered by a judge to do sessions of anger management. So here, a profile like that, an impulsive heroine, crazy girl who has trouble controlling herself under the provocation is not a sexy character...

But it pleases Cage ^^, bouncer at Pink Pony, he is more used to managing weird guys than a drunk chick who wants to dance on the bar. Yes, because in addition, Tempest is not at her best when she meets him. Except that Cage feels responsible and watches with hawks' eyes that no one is bothering her, until she faints on him and he has no choice but to get her safely home. Cage is a pro boxer who has suddenly had to end his career because of a shoulder injury, he arrives in Green Valley to have some quiet time and think about what he can do instead.

From there, Cage and Tempest will decide to be friends, neither is ready for anything else anyway. And when we are friends we support each other in difficult times, that's how Cage will offer boxing classes to Tempest to help her evacuate her anger, and realize through teaching her that there are other professional opportunities for him...

To add a good swoon, Cage is a viking, yes yes, Norwegian by dad, I imagine very well an Alexander Skarsgard for him ♥
